Despite what the signs say, the first several miles of the dirt road are wide and well-maintained. There are some houses scattered about on the outer edges, including a beautiful brand new one just to the right in this picture, for sale for just under half a million dollars.

In Phoenix such houses would be candidates for burning to the ground by crazed environmentalists.
