These people are waiting by the finishing chute.
The race starts on the west side of the courthouse and finishes
on the east side. It's a small race, so there are no massive
throngs waiting. This year (2001) there were 95 male finishers
and 46 females. I don't know how many half-marathon, 10K, 10K
racewalk, and 2-mile runners there were. At Whiskey Row it is
clearly the marathon itself that is the centerpiece.
