I was not aware of Jody-Lynn Reicher at this race, but saw her in action a few months later at Across the Years, where she ran the 24-hour race. There are a couple of good pictures of her in my slide show from that race. Jordan Ross, an orthopedist from here in Phoenix, I've had the pleasure of getting to talk to a little bit. For a couple of years he was taking medical students to races, including this one, and was collecting data for research on the structural effects of ultrarunning. I've happily submitted to his surveys on three occasions. It was not known until the day before if runners as far away as Arizona were going to be able to make it out, but they did. We came to Ohio on September 10, so didn't have to deal with the transportation difficulties.
