Because I had to travel far across the country, and we were on vacation for several days before and after the race, I was not able to bring a tent with me. We rented a car, which Suzy took back to the hotel late at night, leaving me to fend for myself through the dead of night, using only my camp chair, gym bag, and whatever I could hang off it. I could have used more space, but I made do.
